It is a group of students having deep concerns over castist biases of 'Indian' Media & Academia on Social Justice and Equal Opportunity particularly on caste-based reservations. Students from any caste/gender/region can join us. We are clear that it is not mere SC/ST or OBC issue. Any student, genuinely, against caste system can join us. We also seek support from our professionals, intellectuals, workers, and wage earners. Email us at with phone numbers and addresses.

The name of the group has its origin in one of the placards of protesting castist doctors claiming"OUR COUNTRY HAS DISOWNED US". In ‘their’ Nation/Country there is no place for non-dwijas (or SC/ST/OBC) people. Reservation for them is not mere number of seats assigned to underprivileged but a claim of these downtrodden masses into 'their' Nation. In fact by protesting against reservation they are opposing this claim of underprivileged. For us also Reservation is not matter of few jobs or seats in educational institutions. It is claiming of our share in Nation that has been denied historically to us. This is NOT their country only. But it is also OUR country, OUR Nation. We claim it as ours for the simple reason that it is we who create wealth for the Nation by tilling fields, mining minerals. It is we who build roads, bridges, and machinery with our bare hands. THEY are parasites eating off from OUR sweat and blood.

no need for upliftment

this may seem like a trivial point but i would like to comment on muni's email id there is no need to uplift anyone. this is movemnt for social and political power, but it is also a self respect movement and has to be respected as such. please do not take this personally, but it had to be said.

Reservation has nothing to do with economic backwardness. Those who think that few jobs or seats in educational institutes will remove India's poverty are either living in fool's paradise OR they are just trying to propagate misconception. And I pity their "merit". Why does not a very poor Brahmin's son who has repeatedly failed in school take job of a Safai Karmachari in Municipal Corporation? OR have you ever asked your maid servant about her plan for future of her sons and daughters? They simply don't have any aspirations to achieve anything in life. They have been programmed since ages to live and survive just on "raham-karam" of their upper-caste "mai-baap". This is even evident in schools also. Though we all hear and know the "economic" reason of high rates of drop-outs and dismal rate of literacy and enrollment of Dalit children which is attributed to the need for Dalit children to supplement their family wages through labour, more insidious and less well-documented is the discriminatory and abusive treatment faced by Dalit children at the hands of their teachers and fellow non-Dalit students. It is a common sight that a Dalit child is ignored and receives all forms of discouragement in the hands of teachers in his schools/college. Reservation as mandated in constitution is precisely for assuring the dalit child that your rights are constitutionally protected. Reservation has clear cut meaning - Protect the rights of a deserving candidate of oppressed class and thus it will result in Social-mobilization (to create and raise aspirations of a very large section of society) who have been programmed not to aspire beyond "roti", who have been programmed no to think about human dignity. How will a country develop when a very large section of society don't consider themselves even as human-being while a small percentage of population consider themselves above human-being? I ask my meritorious upper-caste friends to read in the eyes of a 10-year-old "servant" serving his 8 to 80 year old masters. On the one hand you (upper caste master) are programming the 10-year-old servant that he has been born to serve others while at the same time you (upper caste master) are telling your 8-year-old son that he is born to be served. Does not the exactly same thing preached by our religious scriptures? I request my NRI upper caste friends to first employ a 10 year old naukar (servant) in their home in USA and then talk about equality. Whenever the issue of caste-based reservation comes up they start crying for economic criteria. Is there any history of upper caste agitation for poor, poverty-stricken citizen of the nation? Have you ever seen meritorious Doctors up in arms against daily loot and cheat of poor patients by scores of nursing homes and diagnostic centers? Despite High court’s orders, private schools in Delhi (where Doctors and IIT Delhi students are demanding to add economic criteria to reservation among other demands) have denied seats to economically poor students. These Private schools have got prime land at throwaway price. What were these meritorious Doctors/Engineers doing to protest economic injustice? What I mean to say that the demand to have economic criteria (instead of caste) for reservation is nothing but to spread misconception and thus to protest reservation.

Though the title suggests that the blog is anti castiest, most of the entries are spreading hatred against upper castes (exactly similar to what the so called upper castes are doing with the so called lower castes). I hope such kind of hipocracy is avoided in future.
